IOW Festival Response 23/6-25/6

Surrey 4x4 Response, along with many other of our neighbouring groups responded to a plea by Vectis 4x4 Response to assist at the IOW festival. With 3 hours notice, we had dispatched 8 responders on Saturday/Sunday who were allocated car-park / field 4.

A lot of hard work, saw us clear approx. 400 vehicles from terrible conditions (pictures to follow).

Knowing our help is appreciated goes a long way to keeping the volunteer base geared up to committing their free time to helping others. This email just in this morning spurs us all on

We returned last night from the Isle of Wight festival, and we wanted to express our thanks to your team for all the help you have been so kind to give. I really don't know what we would have done, or how long we would have been stuck for without your assistance. Your team were proactive, helpful, (patient with the women drivers! ha ha) and an absolute godsend.
I hope this message can get back to all of your members who helped us as once we in our car and free from the field we were off and away to the ferry port.
